| Anatolia, motherland of the olive and olive oil
Existence of the olive tree spreads over a time span of 6000 years. It has been 4000 years since it first started to be grown as a cultivar. Smelling history and culture in all respects, this plant occupies a prominent place in Anatolia. As a result of excavations carried out in Anatolia, small hand mortars, grinding stones, earthen pots which served to separate the olive oil from the waste water dating back to 3000-2000 BC as well as olive oil storages dating to later periods have been unearthed.
